AlpFUTUR – the future of Switzerland’s summer grazing pastures
The ÄlplerInnen sub-project aims to identify the important determining factors in an attractive Alpine workplace. It forms part of the alpFUTUR joint project between the Agroscope Reckenholz-Tänikon (ART) Research Station and the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape research (WSL) .
The Swiss Foundation for Alpine Research has become involved in this project because of its belief that retention of the summer grazing pastures promotes a form of work that is specific to the mountains, and stops the encroachment of forestation killing those sections of Alpine species diversity that depend on the cultivated landscape.
