The PRIX DE QUERVAIN 2026 will take place on 9 September 2026, during which the prize winner(s) will present their award-winning work at the Swiss Polar Day, curently planned to be held in Sion
Named after the Swiss Arctic explorer E Alfred de Quervain (1879-1927), this prize is awarded annually, alternating between polar and high altitude research. The prize money of CHF 5,000 will be awarded in total or divided up between selected works.
Eligible are earty career researchers who have completed their MA, PhD or Postdoc work in Switzerland in the 24 months prior to the submission deadline for nominations. The awarding of the prize is part of a public event at which the prizewinners present their work.
